California | San Diego | Education & Student Activism | Racial JusticeUCSD Chancellor's Office is Occupied
In response to administrative equivacation regarding a student demand that UCSD be shut down to allow the community to heal from the racist act of hanging a noose in Giesel Library last night, students from the Black Student Union and allies have occupied the Chancellor's office. The action took place following a morning rally in which the pain associated with the discovery of the noose and the strength of the community were on display. The Black Student Union have given the Chancellor a deadline of today at 5pm to provide a plan for meeting the demands they presented last week. Updates, video from this morning and wednesday's action will be posted here soon...
PLEASE COME OUT TO SUPPORT THE STUDENTS THIS AFTERNOON! |
