Rebecca Doran spoke on behalf of the Kevin Cooper Defense Committee, and explained that San Quentin death row prisoner Kevin Cooper has filed his last appeal to the US Supreme Court. Last week, the state responded with their filings, arguing that Kevin should be executed. A decision is expected from the US Supreme Court as early as the end of November. On November 8, 2009, the SF Bay Area Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal organized an event at Centro Del Pueblo in San Francisco. The event focused on three innocent men who may soon be executed, depending on upcoming court rulings: Troy Davis, Kevin Cooper, and Mumia Abu-Jamal.
