On November 4th 2008, Proposition 8 passed, stripping away the civil rights of LGBT Californians. It has never been clearer that we need full federal equality for LGBT people NOW. Win or lose in Maine, Washington, and Kalamazoo we still don't have our rights here nor the full federal equality that is so desperately needed. Come join us in the streets on November the 4th to protest one year of prop 8 bigotry and respond to the election results nationwide. This event is has been called by One Struggle, One Fight to coincide in part of the Equality Across America Week of Initiative put forward at the National Equality March. No matter what happens in the various jurisdictions on election day, it is going to take the hard work of activists and people all across this state and this country to gain full legal rights for LGBT people in all matters concerning the government: local, state, and federal!!
If you are interested in organizing for the rally against the one year of prop 8 bigotry, r.s.v.p. on the facebook invite, forward this email to as many people as possible, and of course please come out to the rally at Harvey Milk Plaza (between Market & Castro), San Francisco, CA at 6 P.M. on November 4th, 2009. To keep the organizing going after the march, check out our group's weekly meetings on Thursdays @ 7 P.M.
