A woman was last night thrown out of a meeting held to discuss the North Shore's beach poisonings when she abused a Department of Conservation speaker and hurled objects at him.

Donna Bird was ejected as she shouted obscenities at Richard Griffiths, who was speaking about rodent eradication on Rangitoto and Motutapu Islands using bait poisoned with brodifacoum.

She said one of the things she threw was a tumour that had been taken out of her.

As she was removed from the Devonport Yacht Club about 7.40pm, she called DoC "parasites" and "disease mongerers" .

The meeting, chaired by North Shore City councillor Chris Darby, was set up so residents could ask questions of government agencies about the poisonings and deaths of dogs at Cheltenham and Narrow Neck and of the dolphin deaths in the Hauraki Gulf.

The hostility continued after Ms Bird was ejected when residents called out obscenities several times during the presentations and when they were invited to ask questions of the DoC, Auckland Regional Council and Auckland Regional Public Health Service staff.

Six dogs died and 15 others became unwell with symptoms consistent with ingestion of tetrodotoxin, a drug that can kill a human with a dose the size of two paper clips.

Many at the meeting thought the deaths were because of the brodifacoum poison drops and weren't convinced by officials' assurances there wasn't any link.

Mr Griffiths told the meeting toxicology results ruled out brodifacoum as being responsible. "I'm not sure what else we can say."

Many people who asked questions accused DoC of spreading poison in the gulf.

Dolphins and penguins have also died but Mr Griffiths said they suffered no internal bleeding, a telltale sign of brodifacoum.

One woman said she hadn't been convinced there wasn't a link between the drops and the deaths. Another accused agencies of being "blinded by science".

Some members of the 250-strong crowd left early, unhappy with the bad language being used by some of those attending as they called out and interrupted speakers.

An open letter all Americans.

In New Zealand we seem we have become the dumping ground for U.S Chemicals and the experimental ground for the Biotech products manufactured in the United States and we are paying the price. New Zealand is being turned into a parking lot. Our forests, waterways and our heath are all being systematically destroyed by your patented products which are designed to kill things.

I’m left wondering what sort of people are Americans. Maybe it’s not Americans but the 200 or so scientists you gave ‘safe haven’ to after WWII.

We banned your nuclear ships but the thing is, it feels like you ‘nuked’ us anyway. The deaths and destruction are subtle. It will leave the infrastructure behind but the soil and water will not ensure safe habitation for who knows how long….if ever.

Very recently we a had minor victory with the Taupo District Council banning 1080 aerial drops. This evil compound made in Alabama, enough to kill 20 million people every year, is shipped to NZ to kill opossums. Our death by poison rate, is 3 times that of the road toll.

Why is there such a need for the U.S to control everything? Why can’t you people be satisfied with what you have got? Why so greedy?
Your products are destroying the world on a global scale and we’re supposed to like you?
Can’t you people look at the big picture and think at least 6 generations ahead?

Is it not enough to have clean water, chemical free food, clean air, a peaceful existence, a future for your children, grandchildren and so on?

So corrupt and greedy. You bitch about NZ Yogurt full of Soy Lethin yet you export this bleached sludge from the residue of GMO Soy so Fonterra can put it in our milk powder and we export it back to you to bitch about. It would not surprise me at all seeing as the Department of Conservation have been dumping 1080 near milking sheds. If comes back to you with residue of 1080, I would not be surprised. We have NZFSA to test for residue but they don’t because ERMA said it was safe. More ass covering.

I guess it’s the old saying…what goes around comes around.

The thing is I have come like some Americans and realise we have many things in common. We share the same needs, wants and aspirations. Working together is the only hope we have for a better place. We also face the same problem of corruption, injustice, pollution.

How do we find a way forward without killing each other?
Ps. I hate your vaccines and medicines.
