in conversation with Clayton Frohman, screenwriter & co-producer of the movie Defiance

Fred Rosenbaum, author of Taking Risks, teams up with a former female WWII partisan, Sonia Shainwald Orbuch, to tell the woman's side of the Soviet partisans' story. Sonia went to war without basic training, equipment, food, or essentials necessary to fight the Germans. She spent a brutal winter in the forest and then joined a partisan brigade, which fought heroically. Come hear this courageous story. Join us for coffee and book signing following the event.
