Integrity Now? What happened to Kucinich?

by Nadia
Instead of continuing to working together toward positive change, Kucinich is leading the effort in asking us to vote for Elizabeth on the Cleveland dance show.
Although it has been over a year, some may remember that as Kucinich dropped out of the presidential election prematurely because he was afraid of losing his congressional seat, he said he and his wife Elizabeth would be starting a new site for activists called "Integrity Now". This might have impressed Kucinich volunteers at the time, however absolutely nothing has been done toward that effort and the site domain has now returned to the SiteGround Default Server page.

I have been following Kucinich's career since 2001 and became a very active supporter. He grabbed my attention as he led the effort against the patriot act and the war in Iraq. I fought for his election to the presidency in 2004 and 2008. It was bad enough in 2004 when he promised to fight all the way to the convention only to give up ahead of time, but 2008 was even worse. It appeared his campaign was not even trying. They did not even set up offices in Iowa and then when he didn't do well, he quit shortly afterward. He collected donations from supporters then threw in the towel with very little effort.

I was very active on his website at the time doing whatever I could think of to support him. I started my own site http://www.dk2008.com to highlight his issues which I felt the official website was failing to do. I wrote my own articles in support of him and published them all over the web. I could see that the campaign had problems and would fail eventually so I started another website http://www.peacecandidates.com so that Kucinich volunteers could work together to elect new Congressional members that would truly represent us and provide support of Kucinich and his legislation in Congress. I promoted this site on the official website, but as Kucinich ended his candidacy he announced that Elizabeth would spearhead this new movement through their site "Integrity Now". Instead of keeping the movement going, trusting Kucinich volunteers waited for his official activist site. I tried to keep the momentum, providing a place for activists to work together but this 'hope' for Kucinich's new site left everyone in limbo. One year later, Kucinich activists have now dispersed and what is left? Where is Kucinich now?

With people demanding Single Payer Health Care, why isn't he continuing to pursue this in the public eye? Why hasn't he activiated his army of supporters to fight for real change? Why isn't Kucinich speaking out loudly about Obama's move to protect Bush and Cheney from prosecution over illegal wiretapping? Why isn't he leading his supporter to fight against Obama's continuation of the war in Iraq and the escalation in Afghanistan?

Instead of continuing to working together toward positive change, Kucinich is leading the effort in asking us to vote for Elizabeth on the Cleveland dance show. It appears that the entire campaign and perhaps Kucinich himself is a sham. Intergrity Now-the irony!

I would like to end this with a warning to the Ron Paul activists. You can pour all the money you want into the campain, put your every effort into electing Ron Paul 2012, but it appears that he is playing the same game. He is not trying to win, but rather take money from well meaning activists meanwhile distracting and misdirecting. I love many of the things that Ron Paul promotes. I still believe in everything that Kucinich talks about. It is just talk however, that is the problem. They are a part of the dog and pony show meant to distract the most motivated activists. The sad thing is, it has been working smashingly.
