Anthony Romero: The Urgency of Action in the Age of Obama

ACLU Executive Director Romero contends that even as we usher in the era of change, activists need to be more vigilant than ever. He details the challenges ahead

Anthony Romero, Executive Director, American Civil Liberties Union

Although the first few months of Obama's presidency have brought considerable change, there is still much work to be done in the area of civil liberties. Romero, a pioneer figure in ACLU's history, believes that the economic crisis and international pressure will force Obama to put potentially divisive issues on the back burner, such as gay rights, the future of Guantanamo, and the war on terror. Join Romero in a discussion on how we must still work to promote activism in the Obama era.
