Press Conference/Tristan Rally at SF Israeli Consulate
by Eye on IDF/SFPD
Thursday Mar 26th, 2009 5:05 PM
Top photo: One of the speeches at today's press conference being recorded by citizen journalists. Speakers talked of their love for Tristan and their concern for other victims and potential victims of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Others expressed outrage at the arrests of March 16 when protesters at this very site, in front of the Israeli consulate in San Francisco, were brutalized by baton wielding San Francisco police. Still others reminded everyone that Arab-Americans were targeted for arrest during the large anti-war demonstration in San Francisco last weekend. Four of those arrested still face felony charges.

The Raging Grannies led the crowd in a composition they wrote in honor of Tristan Anderson to kick off the event. Poets and musicians offered their thoughts in spoken word and song. All under the scrutiny of consulate security and the SFPD.

IDF SHOT TRISTAN by the Raging Grannies Action League
tune: Frere Jacques

Shot protesters, with hard objects
in the head, in the head
Why'd you shoot protes-ters, Why'd you shoot protes-ters?
IDF, IDF

Ran them over, with bulldozers
now they're dead now they're dead
Why'd you run them over, why'd you run them over?
IDF, IDF

Blocked the ambulance, at the checkpoint
patients dead, patients dead
How could you have done that, How could you have done that?
IDF, IDF

Shot old women, shot old women,
on command, on command
Why'd you shoot some grannies, why'd you shoot some grannies?
IDF, IDF

Shot our Tristan, our friend Tristan
in the head, in the head
We will not forget this, cuz we're REALLY pissed off
IDF, IDF!
