San Francisco | Anti-WarAnti-War March and Rally in San Francisco March 21
Several thousand people gathered in downtown San Francisco Saturday morning, despite the threat of rain, for a peaceful march and rally against the on going wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and occupation of Palestine. With the dire state of the American economy the protest had a strong emphasis on the dollar cost of United States military involvement.

"Thou shall not kill hope"
At one point 76 uniformed police guarded the counter protesters.
About Fifty Pro Israeli protesters staged a counter demo on the steps of city hall. the reference is to Israeli Staff Sergent Gilad shalit who is allegedly held hostage by Hamas.
