About 50 people rallied in the park next to Berkeley High prior to a march through the streets of downtown Berkeley. About 50 people rallied in the park next to Berkeley High from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The speakers at the rally were Cindy Sheehan, Sharon Adams (National Lawyers Guild), Sureya Sayadi (an Iraqi Kurdish physician), a youth from the 9/11 truth movement, and revolutionary journalist Larry Everest. Some youth from Berkeley High also participated, as did several people wearing giant “Mourning Mothers” puppets, and a 10 foot tall Obama “Uncle Sam” wearing the message, “I want you to kill and die in my war in Iraq… AND Afghanistan.” There were students from 5 different high schools and 6 different colleges present, including several from Berkeley Community College.
