Ferment Change is an annual, all volunteer organized, celebration of Urban Agriculture, Food Justice, Fermented Foods and Community to benefit City Slicker Farms* is West Oakland. The event highlights the work of City Slicker’s “Backyard Garden Program”, and also features local food activists, a fermented food and drink potluck, a fermentation workshop, live music, a City Slicker Plant sale and a presentation on international urban agriculture and food politics. Local fermentors that bring homemade fermented foods or drinks are entered in a drawing to win lots of local goodies. This year will feature a host of satellite events to benefit City Slicker Farms, throughout the month of March and April. If you would like to bring a dish to the event, or would like to host a fermentation themed event to benefit City Slicker Farms or any like minded cause please email maxc [at] riseup.net.
