Join us as we honor love and justice.
A community "speak out" in support of equal rights, and an opportunity to honor our community's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families. The day after the California Supreme Court hears the marriage equality case (regarding Proposition 8), Oakland's first lesbian elected official will be honoring local same-sex married couples as the struggle for justice and equality continues.
We will hear from same-sex married Oakland couples, along with heterosexual allies, including Oakland City Attorney John Russo, and Reverend Byron Williams.
The "speak out" will conclude with a ceremony to honor our same-sex married couples, and eating cake!
