As the war on Gaza claims over 1,000 Palestinian lives, protesters in San Francisco mark the grave milestone by chaining themselves to the front doors of the Israeli Consulate building.

Eight demonstrators were arrested in the action that lasted two and a half hours.

Writeup and footage - video 2:29
Dream Not Of Today posted a writeup of the civil obedience at the Israeli Consulate 15 January in San Francisco. In reaction to the macabre milestone of over 1,000 civilian Palestinians killed in the war on Gaza, protesters stormed the consulate at 8am, setting up a human barrier at its front entrances.

Excerpt:

"I arrived on the scene just as the SF Fire Department was finishing removing the protesters chained to the doors. They had locked the doors with large bicycle locks and themselves with chains, setting up a barrier humanity in front of the glass and steel frontage. A paddy wagon was full of half the raucous lot that engaged the civil disobedience, screaming “Stop killing children!” while rocking it back and forth."

Includes video footage posted on YouTube.

As well as calling for the expulsion of Israeli ambassadors or consuls general, people in Europe are actually also taking nonviolent direct action with stores that carry Israeli products.

Among other things, we can revive the Rainbow Grocery boycott of Israeli goods.

bless and support all peaceful civilians. bless and support all people trying to save the peacefull civilians.

please, as you read this, understand that i have little unbiased info to judge this situation. i know that killing children is always wrong(sounds obvious, but i dont want this post to agitate, just bring about peaceful logical discussion)

is Hamas is just as bad as Israel? i need more information from unbiased sources. everyone needs a full accounting of actions by Israel and Palestine. some times a rebel or protector group does things that screws things up for the people they are protecting, like hide out where innocents
l;ive while the enemy is attacking.

i love the Palestinian people, i love the Israeli people. has Palestine gov't or Hamas ever done slaughter on Israel? how has Palestine acted in the past? im not trying to inflame or agitate, i just need to know.

i love you marchers and lockers-down!

old is the concept that if you see one person trying to kill another, it is the first responsibility to stop the killing.
then find out who did what, then what?
