This one-hour presentation on film by Molly Morgan and Jan Adams of the Women’s Internatonal League for Peace & Freedom may have missed the larger message of what they show. The story of corporate personhood isn’t about regulating corporations, but understanding that corporations are the means by which the “rich white men” who have controlled this country from the beginning maintain their power. Yes, we showed it at the beginning of the year, but few people attended. We still think it’s an eye-opening perspective on how each advance in the rights of citizens, particularly each expansion of civil and voting rights, has been countered by the owning class to ensure that ultimate power will remain with them.
A discussion period will follow the one-hour film. The Marxist School of Sacramento is the sponsor of this free, public event.
