by Vanessa Vega, NAM (reposted)
Originally From New America Media, YO! Youth Outlook Multimedia, Commentary

Thursday, October 30, 2008 : The murder of San Francisco Hells Angel president Mark "Papa" Guardado in September brought out the biggest biker procession the Bay Area has ever seen. Now, almost two months later, rival motorcycle club the Mongols - a member of which is now awaiting trial for Guardado's murder - is facing mass arrests by the federal government in the U.S. and Canada under a federal racketeering indictment. YO! Youth Outlook Multimedia content producer Vanessa Vaga, 17, attended Guardado's funeral and was one of the only media to talk to members of the Hells Angels about the murder.

Papa had gotten into a fist fight at a bar in the Mission District and was shot several times. Papa died shortly after at San Francisco's General Hospital. Everyone suspected that his killer was a member of the rival motorcycle club, the Mongols.

Papa was very close to my mother, though I didn't know him very well personally - he was someone who was in my life.
