Free Advance Screening of LIONESS By Meg McLagan and Daria Sommers
They went to Iraq as cooks, clerks, and mechanics and returned a year later as part of America's first generation of female combat veterans. Despite an official government policy that states that women are not supposed to partake in direct ground combat, the five women featured in Lioness most certainly did. Together the women's candid narratives describing their experiences in Iraq and scenes from their lives back home form a portrait of the emotional and psychological effects of war from a female point of view.
Panel Discussion Featuring Cheryl Wenell, Women Veterans Program Manager, VA San Francisco Medical Center and Tia Christopher with Swords to Ploughshares
