Drum Circle Defense

Date:
Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Time:
3:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Event Type:
Party/Street Party
Organizer/Author:
Robert Norse
Location Details:
Cathcart and Cedar St. Parking Lot #4. Next to the Wednesday Farmer's Market in downtown Santa Cruz. In a lot that city staffers want to turn into a 5-story Parking Garage.

The Drum Circle is a traditional weekly event that's been going on for more than fifteen years. In late August and early September police began harassing them, warning, scaring and "persuading" away drummers on 9-3.

Come down to support open public space, traditional first amendment-protected activity, and the reclaiming of one of the few regular gatherings poor and homeless people have in Santa Cruz.
