Santa Cruz Indymedia | Arts + Action | Health, Housing, and Public Services | Police State and PrisonsMesh Fencing Up Again in Parking Lot #4 to Prevent Drum Circle
Once again, metal stakes and green mesh fencing have been put up by the city of Santa Cruz to prevent the weekly drum circle and gathering in Parking Lot #4 next to the Santa Cruz Farmer's Market. September 24th marks the fourth week in a row that police are taking action to shut down the traditional community gathering where people play music, share food and take time to try and enjoy life. ![]() drum-prevention_9-24-08.jpg There is background information at:

Great job, Bradley! And I love the signs! The public should be aware of how their tax dollars are spent during the budget crisis. Last week's police action was about $20,000! To arrest 2 guys. Were they rapists? Violent armed robbers? Nope! They were worse.... they were DRUMMERS!
The city needs to get real. There are better ways to handle any of their supposed complaints. Better, less violent and cheaper. |
