Today, UCPD and hired arborists, started cutting down trees at oak trees sit in (by the uc Berkeley stadium) where activists have been living on the trees for more than a year, in an effort to save them. This is happening one day before a court rule on the issue.
Supporters of the tree sitters gather around the area, to support the activists on the trees, and to try to stop the UCBP and the tree limber company from cutting the trees.
People are called to come out and express their outrage at the acts of U.C. Berkeley. There is going to be a candle vigil tonight at 8.00, and supporters will gather to protect the site tomorrow all day, while waiting for the court ruling.
