POLICE STATE OPRESSION, SF STRAWBERRY FIELD...

by Idriss Stelley Foundation (iolmisha [at] cs.com)
The senseless arrest of an undocumented Hermana AND HER CHILDREN for ...
A Vicious Crime....
Selling strawberries at the corner of 21 and Valencia last Wednesday ... is an abomination, and our community has the Power to Redress and obtain Justice for this family, as well as for all unjustly criminalized undocumented Immigrants in our City.
POLICE STATE OPRESSION, SF STRAWBERRY FIELD...

Dear Comrades:

Today the community at large who CARES about the fate of Immigrants and their Unconditional Right to Amnesty in SF, the greater Bay Area and the Nation of the People at large,
Gracias a todas y todos !

(that is the individuals and agencies unabated by muddled agendas and city funding),

rallied in solidarity with the Call sent by Barrio Unido &Companeros del Barrio for an Emergency Picket in front of the SF Mission Police Precinct, 5pm, 17th and Valencia,

while 3 Mission cops, guarding the front door, all aling keeping in close touch with top brass on their cellphones ...
(as 5 of us stepped aside the door to debrief on the event, one of the white officers elegantly spit in our direction. Nice Touch).

The Rally and Protest was well organized &went without incidents or arrests !

Which proves, once more, that the People have the Knowledge and Power to exercise their Freedom of Speech and Right to Peaceful Assembly, stand against INjustice,
and impact violations of Policies and Procedures perpetrated by the officials financed though our tax dollars.

Although the police contends that the children "attacked a police officer", testimonials of witnesses at the scene are discrepant with the official police version.

The deployment of unnecessary force, a number of cops and patrol cars at the scene was commensurate to the outrage and unrest of a great number of witnesses, and meant to intimidate our community and prevent "escalation".
We will not be silenced !

Companeros Cristina Gutierrez, Earl Gilman,
and Xicano/Latino/Raza comrades led us in chants,
as we waved "Open Border" flags towards traffic and cheering onlookers:

"SF is NOT a Sanctuary City !"
"Enough with La Migra and Police Collaboration to oppress Poor and Undocumented People !"
" No Justice, No Peace !"
"El Pueblo, Unido, Nunca Sera Vencido !"

and they connected the dots around
Managed Mayhem,
the Ice Raids,
and the War on the Poor and Latinos, black and Brown
trying to survive in KKKorporate AmeriKKKa.

The $300 city permit to sell goods on the streets
is prohibitive for our Poor families,
and part of a larger plan to criminalize undocumented Latinos,
just trying to barely provide for their struggling Familias through their hard work,
with or without the "Most Liberal City of the World, Sanctuario" 's permission.

It is interesting to note that SFPD has been increasingly cracking down on such crimeless, non violent efforts to survive, while some speed and other substance dealers continue in many districts of our city to sell their "goods" without being much similarly disquieted, as Hermana Gutierrez pointed out...

We shall not be moved !
Stop using your cops to displace us !

Under the guidance and appeal for solidarity of
Barrio Unido &Companeros del Barrio,
The People demands:

* The immediate release of the criminalized family
* The immediate release of the police report on last Wednesday incident
* The NAMES of the detained, Mother and Children
* Their current detention location
* A medical visit to insure that the Hermana and her children have not detained in substandard conditions
* For any witnesses to be incident to come forward and testify in front of the SF Police Commission.

Use your creative imagination !
(NO sharps that would be confiscated by the sheriffs at the scanner).
