Special Screening of THE HAMILTONS tomorrow night message from Don Lewis Hey everybody! If you're in or around the San Francisco area this Monday, I'm hosting a special screening of THE HAMILTONS at SF State. I'll be showing the film and then hosting the Q&A with filmmakers THE BUTCHER BROTHERS and their co-writer, Adam Weiss. This will be my first time hosting a Q&A plus the screening is a benefit to raise money for our Cinema Conference in the Fall. Please come!! If you're between Santa Rosa and SF, I'll be driving through around 5:30 and can pick you up and take you home! Here's the info below: I'm going to show THE HAMILTONS which is a low-budget horror/drama/black comedy made by some friends of mine ("The Butcher Brothers") that live in SF and Petaluma. They did the movie for next to nothing, got it into some bigger film fests, won some prizes and then the film got picked up by Lionsgate for distribution in theaters and DVD. It's a really cool story (the film and what happened to the filmmakers) and the Butcher Bros are SUPER cool and very mellow. It's kinda shocking they made this movie and managed to get it out there...and I don't mean that in a bad way. They're going to be there for a Q&A after the screening as will the co-writer Adam Weiss. The Hamiltons (2006) Directed by Mitchell Altieri, Phil Flores. With Cory Knauf, Samuel Child, Joseph McKelheer. The film is fun and the guys just released a remake of APRIL FOOLS DAY straight to DVD and are already working on a new feature. Alot of people always want to hear stories of how filmmakers and screenwriters are able to get financing for their projects and how other peoples films get made and if they do get them made, how to get them into festivals and if possible, theaters. These guys have done it and are making a career out of filmmaking so please, come check it out. Feel free to pass this email around as well...lets get some people out to this!! I even attached a flyer.
