Thanks to all the Tibet supporters in SF for their diligent effort, the city board supervisors passed a resolution protesting China's poor human rights record ahead of the Olympic torch's visit to the city. The resolution asks city officials to express their disapproval when they receive the Beijing Olympic Torch on April 9. San Francisco is the only U.S. city to host the Olympic torch relay. The resolution also calls for an investigation into China's actions in Tibet and its treatment of dissidents

The Chinese government is running the Olympic torch around the world, hoping to win the approval of the global public and cover up its brutal occupation of Tibet and abysmal human rights record. When the torch relay reaches San Francisco on April 9th, China will be in the global spotlight like never before. We have an unprecedented opportunity to shine this spotlight on Tibet.

Please do your part for Tibet and make history in April 2008!

Sign up to come to San Francisco and be a voice for 6 million Tibetans who continue to suffer under Chinese rule. Visit our website for the route of the Olympic Torch. Show the Chinese government and the world that the Tibet movement is stronger than ever before and that China can never truly be accepted by the global community until the occupation of Tibet ends.
