Shut it down- another World Cant Wait Friday at the recruiter’s office in the Berkeley Police State.

After passing kids from Berkeley High and other activist a one day course in-Pig 101 or better known as the Police are Not Here to Serve and Protect Us-For Beginners: http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2008/02/12/18478588.php
and after attacking the World Cant Wait demo last Friday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnMlYY7he8w
the BPD decided to expand their protection of the state by actually standing in front of the recruiting office and guaranteeing that the recruiters are allowed to deceive and solicit kids for the advancement of the American Empire (referred to by some people as “free speech” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMEWflz-L8I).

I was intrigued by this man, who seemed to represent some advanced culture, a society of people who are free and brave (so unlike the rest of the primitive world). I wandered into his planet asking whether Iraq was invaded by his free and brave society to control the oil market. I asked him why his free society has a long history of organizing coups against democratically elected presidents while supporting dictators, or if the wealth of his country is connected to third world exploitation, exploitation made possible by the U.S. military. Apparently in La La Land (the capitol of the land of the free and brave) these things are justified or do not exist.

At this point the BPD beat the marchers and arrested a couple of people for using bullhorns (I did not manage to take pictures of that, Copwatch and other people did. They will publish their video/photos soon).

I'd say it takes bravery to stand up against fascism -- right here, growing, in the U.S.

That's how I first read that person's sign.

Dear authoritarian communists: Stop polluting social justice communities with your bullshit. Your belief system is responsible for more deaths than any other twentieth century. Do us all a favor and step in front of a speeding car.

I have many differences with RCP, but I give them props and go out and support them in their resistance to marine recruiters - just like I would any group stepping out there and trying to fight the power.

The social justice communities have to be aware of communist groups and others, such as the RCP who use The World Can't Wait as a front group, from taking over the anti-war movements and other people's struggles. The only way to do that is to take an interest in these movements and participate, otherwise they will be overrun.

"guaranteeing that the recruiters are allowed to deceive and solicit kids for the advancement of the American Empire"...as opposed to World Can't Wait! who solicits kids for the overthrow of the American Empire.... a predator is a predator -- thank God the M.R.S. doesn't talk to "kids" in high school -- that would be exploiting their innocence and using them for nefarious political ends, like the RCP/World Can't Wait!
