Rally begins at 4:00 pm at Montgomery BART Station and will lead into a march to the Homeland Security Building where the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Offices are located.

From November 5-11, activists on both sides of the U.S.-México border will be camping out to protest the arbitrary barriers erected to keep immigrants from entering Fortress USA. The protest is part of a recent groundswell in immigrant communities and among their supporters who oppose the racism of the border and calls attention to the destructiveness of the militarized wall separating the U.S. and México.

The number of deaths along the U.S.-Mexico border continues to rise as immigrants face an increasingly militarized border. And yet even as more legal and physical barriers are erected to keep out immigrants, trade agreements like NAFTA and CAFTA have eliminated nearly all barriers for large corporations to move into México and Central America. Mexicans and Central Americans, driven from their rural communities by unemployment in the wake of these agreements now find themselves having to risk life and limb merely to have access to a job.

The border, however, is not merely a wall. It is also a system of policies and institutions that reinforce human separation. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through their Social Security no-match letters is but one of the most recent efforts to terrorize and intimidate undocumented immigrants

Globalize This! (http://www.globalizethissf.org) is calling upon all people of conscience in the San Francisco Bay Area to march against a resurgent neo-nativism and to stand in solidarity with undocumented immigrants by denouncing ICE's no-match letters.

On Friday 11/9 starting with a rally at 4:00 pm, we will be marching from the Montgomery BART Station to the Homeland Security building where the SF ICE offices are housed.

The U.S. federal government cannot on the one hand generate more economic refugees through free trade agreements and on the other hand erect more physical barriers around those same people.

Join us at the Montgomery Bart Station this Friday at 4pm and demand just, non-racist immigration policies. For more information, contact brendanb [at] globalizethissf [dot] org.
