Labor Protests the War
Several Hundred union members and their supporters gathered in front of the Federal Building Saturday morning for a rally against the war in Iraq and the build-up to an invasion of Iran before marching to the Civic center to join the main rally.
Representative Barbara Lee gave the keynote address to an enthusiastic audience.
The Freedom Song Network, with Jon Frommer on guitar, provided music.
State Assembly Member Mark Leno also spoke out against the war.
Writer and comedian Josh Kornbluth also spoke on Saturday.
Anne Roesler's son Michael served three tours in Iraq with the 82nd Airbourne Divison, she represents Military Families Speak Out.
