In honor of UN Day, let's take to the streets and march in solidarity with the people of Burma! In the spirit of defending
"human rights and and fundamental freedoms", we must continue highlighting the dire situation in Burma!

Let’s give democracy in Burma a voice by recreating the peaceful protest they intended.

Please march with us on United Nations Day to appeal to the UN to take swift and effective measures to stop the killing and establish democracy and rule of law.

In its founding charter, the United Nations declared human rights to be the fundamental foundation for peace and security in the world. The U.N. then must act and respect its purpose but most importantly promote and protect the human rights of the people of Burma!

As an international community, we call on governments, such as China, India, Singapore, and Russia, to end their financial and political support of the military junta in Burma!

Please sign our petition to call on the governments of China, India, Thailand, Singapore, and Russia to end their support for the military junta!!! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/the-UN-is-failing-Burma

WHY? Led by Buddhist monks, hundreds of thousands of peaceful people are taking to the streets to cry out for an end to the long-standing military dictatorship. However, holding Buddhist sassana flags and reciting prayers of love on the street is now a crime punishable by beating and death. Many monks have been disrobed, beaten, humiliated, tortured, and killed, and there are reports of a massacre in the jungle. The military junta is raiding monasteries and private homes in the middle of the night and dragging away those they suspect of involvement. Over 2,000 protesters have been arrested and the Burmese population is living in fear.

The people of Burma need your help. Despite this brutal military crackdown, the brave protests continue, but both protesters and innocent onlookers are being beaten, arrested, imprisoned, tortured and killed.
