The Oakland Food Connection, a non profit dedicated to the fight for food justice by promoting healthier living amongst Oakland's low income residents, will hold a fundraiser October 27 to celebrate the opening of their new office in the Laurel district. This all day event will feature guest speakers, educationally fun nutritional demonstrations and workshops as well as a Halloween themed night for both youth and adults. Nutrition consciousness demonstrations and workshops will begin at 10am and end at 5pm. The youth portion of the event will commence at 7:30pm and will feature live music. This will be a great opportunity for the youth to have fun while also learning about food justice and the campaign for healthier and sustainable living. The adult portion of the event will beginning at 11pm and will also feature live music. Donations will be accepted all throughout the day. Funds raised will assist OFC with programming and ensure continued operation. PLEASE JOIN US IN THE FIGHT FOR FOOD JUSTICE!!!!
