Ongoing Protests Against Oakland Police for Killing of Gary King, Jr.
Community Continues to Demand that OPD Sgt. Gonzales Be Fired
A Benefit Cafe Night will be held on Sunday, October 21st at the Long Haul in Berkeley- all proceeds will go to the family of Gary King, Jr.

On Wednesday, October 3rd, a protest was held at the police station where Sgt. Gonzales, the Oakland police officer who fatally shot Gary King, is currently still on duty. Protesters gathered at 3pm at the Oakland Police Department, 455 7th Street (between Broadway & Washington).

Every Thursday, Gary King Jr.'s family and their supporters gather on the steps of Oakland City Hall in Frank Ogawa Plaza at 14th and Clay Streets) at 3:00pm to demand justice, and that Sgt. Gonzales be removed from the OPD. They are outraged that Sgt. Gonzales is still on the force after he tased and fatally shot Gary King, Jr. twice in the back.

On Saturday, October 13th, Gary King Sr. spoke at speak at African People’s Solidarity Day, which took place from 10am to 5:30pm in the same church where Gary Jr.’s funeral was held - Beebe Memorial Cathedral at 3900 Telegraph Ave in Oakland.
