Santa Cruz Indymedia | Immigrant RightsMay Day March
Despite several racist raids that were conducted all over the country in the days leading up to May 1st, approximately over half a million immigrants and supporters marched together all over the U.S. In Santa Cruz, a march with 350 students went from the center of UCSC and converged with a hundred community members in the downtown area. Spirits were high and there was a lot of support from motorists, pedestrians, and school children (who started chanting at us on the way).
