East Bay | Immigrant RightsTens of thousands march in Oakland for immigrant rights
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (May 1, 2007) – Tens of thousands marched for immigrant rights today. The march was organized by the Labor Council, Oakland Community Organizations, ACORN, Centro Legal de La Raza/Lucha Unida, and many others, in support of “pro-worker immigration reform.” Many chants and signs expressed the radical idea that no human being is “illegal.” Many marchers set off at 9am from 100th Ave, but most joined the march as it made its way down International Blvd, past Lake Merritt, on to the City Hall rally. ![]() 1-jump-161.jpg
