Who: Eunice Mangwane, Manager, Keiskamma AIDS Treatment Center, South Africa

Event: Eunice Mangwane, a South African AIDS worker, will discuss the challenges facing women and communities in AIDS-stricken regions of Africa. She joins the World Affairs Council on her tour as spokeswoman for the Keiskamma Altarpiece. This monumental art piece made of beadwork, embroidery, wire sculpture, and photographs was created by 120 South African women from the Keiskamma AIDS Treatment Center. Its purpose is to convey a message of hope for people who are contending with the devastation that AIDS has wrought in their lives in the midst of poverty and other hardships. Grace Cathedral will display the Keiskamma Altarpiece March 27 – May 29, 2007.
