Christine Chavez is the granddaughter of United Farm Workers Union founder and president Cesar Chavez. Chavez has demonstrated great commitment and leadership in her own right in the fields of education, organized labor, diversity and human rights. She will speak about the relevance of nonviolence to the range of issues that our society is dealing with in terms of newly arrived immigrants in our communities. WMs. Chavez will share insights about how nonviolence can be brought to play to move towards a more just, truly inclusive and humane California and USA.

Proceeds benefit ongoing work of the Resource Center for Nonviolence.
