[sflnc-announce] CALL FOR ACTION

The real challenge facing San Francisco

Entertainment Moguls , Music Mavens,
Partiers and Folks
who cherish San Francisco's freedoms:

Our friends at Kink.com made news on the world stage
last month with their purchase of the Armory. This
long abandoned building is at the gateway to the
Mission for decades has suffered from a lack of a
great idea for its use and then came Kink.
Pledging to be a good neighbor and to open its
production facilities to Indy film producers all while
creating cutting edge adult web based entertainment,
Kink has become a nexus in the evolution of San
Francisco.

After being granted permission to use the building a
group of folks who have an objection to the idea that
Kink could be a good neighbor have called for a
hearing that is TOMORROW at 10 AM. These folks are
using a conservative moral agenda to influence city
policies. They are harbingers of the challenges that
face the street fairs as several neighbors pressure
the city to restrict hours of operation and alcohol
service, they are the folks who don't want nightlife
and they represent the biggest challenge to our most
important quality as a great city - TOLERANCE.

Read what the owner, Peter Acworth has asked us (the
tolerant folks who cherish our freedoms while
respecting each other's differences) to do and do what
you know is right.

Show Up at the Hearing,

Hi Everyone,

This is a reminder to please come and support kink.com
at the special Planning Department hearing this
Thursday.

Thursday March 8th [2007]
10am-noon

City Hall, Room 416

http://sfgov. org/site/ planning_ page.asp? id=56603

The Armory is zoned to be a movie studio, and before
buying the building, I received a letter of
determination from the Planning department stating so.

As you know, a small but loud group of people have
objected to the fact that our movies are adult in
nature on moral grounds. City officials listened to
these people and for whatever reason, decided to hold
this meeting.

It is important that we outnumber the protestors at
this meeting. This issue is really much bigger than
kink.com or the Armory. If you are among those who
cherish San Francisco for its freedoms, please join
us.

Thanks,

Peter

PS please feel free to forward this on to other lists.
