On October 18, 2006 three activists were arrested at a protest of the UC Regents' visit to UC Santa Cruz. Alette Kendrick was the first to be targetted, as a UC policeman shouted "that's the one we want, get her!" before dragging her away from the crowd. Tani Thole and Steve Stormoen were arrested immediately afterwards.

The D.A. has filed charges against the two of them, and they will be arraigned on March 9. Up to this date, the Chancellor has refused to urge the D.A. to drop the charges.

Come to a teach-in/update on the situation with these students, why Alette could get up to 3 years in jail (and Tani could get up to a year), and learn what you can do to help.

This is the time! Don't let the UC and the D.A. intimidate students for voicing their concern with the state of our education! This is not a precedent we can allow!
