On Saturday March 10, Santa Cruz County will be treated to an extraordinary night of literary works by local women writers, as Amber Coverdale Sumrall and Dena Taylor present the 25th annual In Celebration of the Muse. The Muse is the county’s longest-running literary event and the sell-out show will be, once again, at the Cabrillo College Theater. To celebrate the 25th year, twenty-five writers, including Adrienne Rich, Maude Meehan, Claire Braz-Valentine, Ellen Bass, Ellen Treen, Wilma Marcus Chandler, Julia Alter, and Deborah Turner will read one poem or one page of prose each.

The event begins at 8pm. Tickets are $16 advance & $18 at the door, and are available at the Cabrillo Ticket Office (479-6331), Bookshop Santa Cruz, Gateways, Bookworks (in Aptos) & Crossroads Books (in Watsonville).

The Muse is sponsored by Cabrillo College, and is a benefit for the Fast Track To Work program, which provides support services to low-income students.
