Racism and Terrorism On the Job, Harassment and Labor Rights Despite the massive civil rights movement, today there continues to be racism and discrimination on the job. At SFO and SF S.E. Sewage plant, hanging nooses were put up to terrorize Black workers. In the San Francisco hotel industry, there is a systemic exclusion of Black workers and particularly Black youth from getting jobs and Comcast has discriminated against Black workers in more skilled jobs in the company. We will have presentations about these conditions, the history and discuss what can be done about it. Speakers: Robert McCall, Shop Steward Unite-HERE Local 2 and labor activist Anita LaBossiere, Former city workers in the SF PUC who faced "hanging nooses" on the job and was then harassed by management.
