KPFA radio 94.1 fm LOCAL STATION BOARD C a n d i d a t e s F o r u m N e w C o l l e g e o f C a l i f o r n i a Monday Nov. 6th 6:30 - 9:30 pm 780 Valencia between 18th and 19th. Near 16TH Street BART What you crazy? Election Eve? Short notice yes, but important. This was what we got… We feel that Peter Franck's questions are a good starting point for the issues in the election. Available here: http://culturelaw.com/txp/index.php?s=kpfa At our forum on Nov 6th we we’re posing the following questions to candidates: 1. Does the community through the board and other mechanisms have a significant role to play in establishing policy for the station? 2. Could the station's programming policies be improved for example, if the paid staff were given the role of organizing other voices to go on the air rather than being paid to be on the air themselves? If not, why not? 3. What should the board do in the first one hundred days and how? We will convene another forum in 150 days inviting leaders of community media organizations to hear report backs of progress towards reaching candidate goals. We hope to bring the attention of media organizations to LSB work.
