Stand on the corner for peace in Iraq
The local Declaration of Peace campaign is asking local citizens to join together in a simple action Friday the 22nd of September.
The idea is for folks to gather in groups of approximately six persons each, and stand at busy thoroughfares (busy with cars or walking people) at that time. Each group would stand with:
(1) A sign expressing "_________________(your group) for Peace" or similar message
(2) A sign expressing "Support a Plan to Stop War and Occupation and Build Peace in Iraq"
(3) A leaflet from the Declaration of Peace for interested passersby
We will collect names of interested people who want to join a group of 6, and select locations closer to the date. Call Liz 426-9523 or email decofpeace.scc [at] gmail.com
