Federal officers from Immigration & Customs Enforcement, or ICE, conducted pre-dawn raids September 7 & 8 in Watsonville, Santa Cruz, and Hollister. Dubbed "Operation Return to Sender," the sweeps netted 107 undocumented immigrants, mostly from Mexico, but also people from El Salvador, Guatemala and India.
