FRSC: Russ Rankin of Good Riddance
Interview with Russ Rankin lead vocalist of Santa Cruz based punk band Good Riddance talks about the band, political influences, Activism and Punk rock and their new album "My Republic"
Listen now:
This Santa Cruz, California quartet exploded onto the world punk scene with their 1995 FAT Wreck Chords debut “For God and Country” and quickly began to cultivate a reputation for combining a strong social/political message with energetic live shows.
Early appearances on skate/surf/snowboard videos furthered the band’s popularity, especially in the coastal cities of their native California where Good Riddance continued to craft a potent blend of stirring political manifestos and heart-wrenching songs about love and loss; all set to mood-driven melody reminiscent of CA’s classic punk acts.
