Central Valley | Anti-WarPeace Demonstration at the Axis Art Gallery in Sacramento
A small group of anti-war, anti-bush and Palestinian human rights activists gathered in front of the Axis Gallery in downtown Sacramento on Saturday, July 8th. A small group of local activists gathered in front of Axis Gallery in downtown Sacramento on Saturday evening to demonstrate against the occupation of Iraq, the Bush administration and the ongoing Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights in the occupied territories. Participants displayed signs, played guitar, sang, distributed literature and chatted among themselves. The mood was very positive and friendly. It was a very warm evening and participants took breaks from the demonstration in order to check out the art in the air-conditioned gallery, which included Steve and Virginia Pearcy's famous, "BUSH LIED I DIED" soldier display. The response of motorists driving by and Gallery patrons was somewhat subdued, but overwhelmingly positive.
