Protest Against Rep. Nancy Pelosi's Continuous Funding of the War in Iraq
by CODEPINK ( codepinkbayarea [at] riseup.net )

Nancy Pelosi will hold a Town Hall meeting the morning of Saturday January 14th to discuss National Security, meanwhile we'll be outside protesting her continuous support for a military war chest. While she has personally supported Rep. John Murtha's call for withdrawal from the ground war, she explicitly refuses to use her power as house minority leader to move the Democratic Party Caucus towards supporting even Murtha's resolution; she will not support HR 4232, the bill introduced by Representative James McGovern, to prohibit the use of funds to deploy United States Armed Forces to Iraq. Nancy Pelosi consistently votes to spend billions of dollars per year on the war in Iraq while vital public services are being cut at home!

The reason..

The reason she votes for the war funding, but speaks out against it, is because: money speaks louder than words, and actions are stronger than words, and she knows the war is the right thing to do. Or else she would vote as she speaks.
The only party that could make dems look good--LOL!
by Iraq war--another republican fiasco

And that's hard to do. With the prospect of republican failure on all fronts--corruption, lies scandals, failed special election here in CA, and the Dems failure (in general) to show a spine, maybe this would be a good time for 3rd parties to make some headway....
YES SHE DOES BUT WHY???

"One thing, however is unchanged: America's commitment to the safety and security of the State of Israel is unwavering. America and Israel share an unbreakable bond: in peace and war; and in prosperity and in hardship.
"Prime Minister Sharon's leadership of Israel at this crucial time has been remarkable. ...

"The United States will stand with Israel now and forever. Now and forever."

Pelosi is nothing but a shill for Israel and she's addicted to their money. We need to pull out the troops now and get rid of this fascist regime by any means necessary. We need to take the steets and eject the Halliburton sycophants ASAP. We have no business w/ an occupation of a sovereign nation after a
"terrorist" attack that's over four years old. WE NEED THE TROOPS OUT NOW AND LEADERS WHO WILL SPEAK TO THAT ON A NATIONAL LEVEL!!!

RE: "maybe this would be a good time for 3rd parties to make some headway...."

Yes, it would be great if the folks demonstrating would back up their demands with action - like running a Green or Peace and Freedom candidate against Pelosi.

Unfortunately, Medea Benjamin has little credibility as a critic of the Democrats as she was a prime mover in the Anybody But Bush debacle in 2004. She abandoned independent politics to urge folks to vote for the evil of two lessers war voter John Kerry! (OK, she backed the unknown David Cobb, who ran a non-campaign in 'safe states' - and cost the Green Party about 10 ballot lines around the US!) So much for party building, or really using an independent campaign to punish the war parties....
