REFUSE & RESIST! Bay Area is mobilizing AGAINST Operation Rescue at the
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Conference
(acog.com/ACM2005). OR is out to harass, intimidate and defame these
women's health professionals. An early portion of the conference began
this weekend and Operation Rescue has begun attacking. We were out to
meet them but the doctors are requesting more public and obvious support
to counteract the gigantic photography and loud assualts. Large signs
and large numbers are being asked for.

Its likely that Operation Rescue will concentrate their forces and bring
in busloads, which they allude to in their website. Meet us in the
morning at 8AM. Earlier is better. Later is good too. OR will be there
from 6AM throughout from May 9-11.

The security, vendors and many of the phyisicans expect OR to be out
there tomorrow Monday starting at 6 am. The anti's plan civil
disobedience to block the entrances to the convention hall and prevent
the phyisicans from getting inside the convention. The opening session
starts at 8:45 am with greetings from the city officials. The SFPD said
they plan to be here as well to make sure there isn't any disruptions,
but they have allowed the anti's to make death threats on bull horns,
allow the anti's sound truck to circle the convention hall with their
obsence signs and making agitational remarks like "if I was on a jury I
would sentence all abortions and baby killers to death". Today, the
security people said there were no pro choice people that showed up.

Given the sentiments of people we have talked to here, they would like
if there were many people here from 6 am to 9 am to let people know that
there are pro choice people here in this town and that there is no
traditional morarlity or values but another kind of future.
