OAKLAND CITY COUNCIL 6PM, MEETING 5/3 TUESDAY The proposed 16th & Wood Street project in West Oakland will reshape the face of our community. The developer proposed 1,500 market rate units to be built non-union with no affordable housing and even proposed demolishing the baggage wing of the train station. City Officials and developers must be accountable. They must ensure that history is preserved and protected. The Coalition consists of community, labor, and environmental groups spearheaded by local West Oakland residents. The Coalition envisions development that includes: ï¾· affordable housing for local residents ï¾· local prevailing wage jobs ï¾· full preservation and renovation of historical and cultural landmarks ï¾· environmental remediation (air quality, traffic congestion) We need your support in this campaign, and ask that you join us at the Tuesday, May 3rd Oakland City Council meeting schedule: 6PM Rally and speakers in front of City Hall (14th & Broadway) featured speakers include: Ron Dellums, Bishop Bob Jackson (Acts Full Gospel Church).. 7pm Oakland City Council convenes 7:30pm 16th and Wood Street testimonials begin... for more information call 632 4242 |
