Thousands of UCB staff and students as well as many labor activists took part in an all day strike and picket in Berkeley. The rally reached its largest point around 4PM when Robert J. Birgeneau was sworn in as chancellor. Birgeneau eventually came outside and addressed the crowd. (more reports and details will be posted shortly)  p4130149.jpg
