As a defense attorney, I can tell you right now that you don't have a legal leg to stand on so don't get your hopes up. The cops must abide tby the SFPD General Orders. Believe it or not, the 800,000 taxpayers of San Francisco have authorized the use of force in order to restore public order. It's not fair, but I was not in SF when they wrote the laws. The law, California Penal Code is on the cop's side. If he tells you to move and you refuse, then he is authroized by law to inflict pain in a way to coerce you to comply. If you do not comply, they are authrorized to use even more force. Of course, they can't shoot you! Furthermore, if you see any cop trying to steal someone's fajita, please take a photo of him and post it on here. I'll represent the victim of the stolen fajita.
We're out

If anyone's still following this the demonstrators arrested were cited and let go at 850 Bryant. I was with the first wave of arrests, at Bush and Battery, and as far as I know we were all out before noon.
I have an inquiry about forced destruction of film by one being detained. I witnessed a man that I was arrested with taken aside by a female officer (833, Brine is the last name I believe) and a man in a suit and after some discussion he was instructed to expose his film and trow it away. I don't know if there's a reason to take action on this, but I would like to know what the law says concerning photographs taken by those arrested. Can they ask you to destroy them? Are you required to? If someone has an answer either post it or e-mail me. Thanks. You have an FBI record now

Ben, sad to say that now you have a permanent FBI record on you that will follow you wherever you go in life. If you decide to apply for a job in Alaska, the authorities will know who you are. Also, you now have a San Francisco Rap record. Although they let you go on your own recognizance, your record will stay in the computer system and Interpol. This is sad how our government tracks us. If i had known about this when i was younger (I was arrested when i was only 20 years old protesting the same war but in 1991) I would have made some decisions on how to support peace through other means. My FBI record has haunted me ever since and I talked to many ACLU attorneys and they couldn't do shit for me. I feel for you my brother.
Record, shmecord

A record is a small price to pay for justice. Most of the offenses are misdemeanors anyway, which do not have to be mentioned when seeking most jobs. Don't worry about it, keep fighting the good fight!
Don't worry about it!

The only record-related question I've ever been asked about...on employment applications, etc..... is regarding felony convictions....
I was arrested, charged and convicted with a felony 25 years ago (it was a bogus political conviction). I was pardoned so always answer that I don't have any convictions on my record. It's never caused me a problem. Don't let fear of arrest over a misdemeanor charge stop you from doing the right thing. Congratulations! You better worry about it! You are marked

PEOPLE TALK. RUMORS FLOAT AROUND. IF YOU GET AN FBI RECORD ON YOU, YOU ARE FUCKED FOR LIFE.

Ten dollars says the FBI itself (or poss other law "enforcement") is giving us these "ohmigod your life is SO over if you have a file" posts. You get an FBI file, maybe you can't work for the FBI, or the NSA. Who would want to anyway?
PS Someone please train the reactionary monkeys about the "caps lock" key. Forgive, this is a test

Be careful when trying to stop international and
local commerce. I hope SFPD does arrest most of you and Go SFPD! Remember off hours is your time and friends are always here to help when
you need us. We love you people at SFPD you keep our companies
free from things like say an SFPD please protect our local economy from economic terrorism imposed by illegal marches and terrorism tactics against us - like damaging our street and side walks making it impossible for us to enter our place of business. Additionally please help stop these econ-terrorists from doing such despicable things against the hardworking corporate employees such as vandalizing our personal vehicles, spiting on us, intimidating us from going to work, blocking our access to public streets and walk ways. Working in San Francisco is becoming harder and harder it is no wonder that companies want to move out of this area. Additionally, when business travelers come to this area they are scared to even leave the hotel and reminded by hotel staff on what streets to avoid due to these econ-terrorists. This area once a popular place to visit and conduct business in is looking much more like a vandalized, trash blowing, urine smelling, haven for homeless people and anarchists.
