Están a punto de ver el trailer de una película que, esperamos, sea confeccionada en los próximos meses. Este trailer, cuya duración es de 16 minutos, retrata basicamente -a veces de manera un tanto sensacionalista- tres historias: Cómo nació Indymedia, de qué se trata Indymedia Argentina y qué fue lo que pasó y todavía pasa en la Argentina.
Es muy importante para nosotros saber que es lo que piensan de este trailer porque no queremos mostrárselo a nadie antes de que esta primera etapa -todavía faltan colocar los créditos, el sonido, etc- concluya.
La idea, apartir de este material, es recaudar dinero en los EEUU para financiar otra película, que con más tiempo y más gente nos permita trabajar juntos con Indymedia Argentina.
La idea de la próxima película sería incluir los tres temas que están en el trailer, aunque de una manera mucho más detallada, profunda y colectiva.
Además incluirá puntos que no fueron tocados por un problema de espacio. Nos fue imposible, por ejemplo, contar acerca de los otros grupos, que de manera independiente, recorren el camino junto a Indymedia. Esperamos que este punto, como algunos otros, sean incluidos en el largomentraje.
Por otra parte, particularmente para los argentinos, queremos consultarlos acerca de algunas imágenes que tomamos prestadas sin saber exactamente de quien eran y preguntarles si esta bien que lo hayamos hecho.
Finalmente queremos destacar que muchas de las personas que se muestran sacando fotos o filmando en el trailer pueden no ser participantes activos de Indymedia. De todas maneras pensamos que esto no es importante, ya que de acuerdo a los principios fundacionales de Indymedia cada persona es un corresponsal. Además nos parece que incluir imágenes de gente anónima nos otorga un marco de seguridad mientras estamos trabajando.

You are about to see the trailer of a movie which we hope to realize over the next few months. This trailer, which is 16 minutes long, attempts to sketch -though perhaps in a bit of a sensationalist way- three stories:
The beginning of Indymedia, what Indymedia Argentina is doing, and its relation to what happened and is still happening in Argentina .
It is very important to know what people think about what we have done so far, as we don't want to show it past this stage without more feedback. (We still need to add the credits, work on the sound, etc.)
The idea is to use this trailer as a way of raising funds to complete a longer film, with more time, more people and would allow us to work together with indymedia Argentina more closely. it would include the same three stories that are presented in the trailer but produced in a more detailed, profound and collective way-in Argentina.
The longer movie would cover subjects that weren't in the trailer largely due to the lack of space. For example, it was not possible to expand the discussion to other independent media organizations which work together with, and along side, of Indymedia Argentina. We hope to be able to cover this, as well as other more complicated issues, in the feature-length version.
Furthermore, we feel the need to consult with Argentineans in regards to images that we have borrowed without knowing exactly to whom they belonged, in order to assure that we are using them appropriately. In particular we are referring to the first scene of the trailer.
Finally, we want to point out that not all of the people shown in taking pictures and filming are necessarily involved directly with Indymedia. In our opinion this is not terribly important, because in the philosophy of Indymedia, "everyone is a correspondent", and therefore could be. This anonymity also provides a level of security which we believe is a necessary reality of making a film of this type.
