flame walk
In their walk for peace, which began on 1/15, the Hiroshima Flame Interfaith Pilgrimage is marching across the US, carrying a flame constructed from embers of the Hiroshima bombing. The walk arrived in the SF Bay Area on 2/11 and met up with a concurrent homeless rights protest. It will reach the Lawrence Livermore Nuclear Laboratory on 2/14. The procession aims to stop the Star Wars missile defense program, honor Native people who are victims of nuclear development, and promote alternatives to war. On 5/12, the expedition will culminate in NYC. Hear audio. Photo 1 I 2 | Porland IMC Feature
