301 Center St.

Please join us for this rare opportunity!!
Faiza Al-Araji has extended her visa to make this special appearance. She is visiting the U.S. with a delegation of Iraqi women for International Women's Day. Her son Raed will also join us! Faiza is an engineer who is Shia and she has a Sunni husband. Her son Khalid, a student at Baghdad University, was arrested recently by Iraqi officials without ever being charged.

Family in Baghdad is written by Faiza and her three sons (including Raed of “Raed in the Middle”). This blog is written as a family’s diary, though most of the posts are from Faiza. Faiza is a strong, independent woman, and writes about the continuing war in Iraq and her daily life, such as moving from one residence to another, or what it’s like when a bomb explodes near where you are buying vegetables.
Raed in the Middle brings together news reports from diverse sources and adds his own commentary to what is occurring in the Middle East. Knowledgeable, informative, and opinionated, Raed’s blog offers a critical look at Iraq’s state of affairs.

Louden Nelson is located at 301 Center St., Santa Cruz, CA. For more info call (831) 423-6355 or (831) 420-6177
