This Labor Day, please join us for a very important and special memorial event.
Last year, on September 5, 2004, Dyron Brewer died in the CYA’s Chad youth prison.
We are marking this horrific event and honoring Dyron’s life with a mass memorial

This Labor Day, please join us for a very important and special memorial event.
Last year, on September 5, 2004, Dyron Brewer died in the CYA’s Chad youth prison.
We are marking this horrific event and honoring Dyron’s life with a mass memorial
and march. The “No More Lost Lives” memorial event will be held in Stockton (home
of the Chad prison) on Monday, September 5, 2005 from 12 PM to 3 PM.

The cause of Dyron’s death is unknown. Dyron was in CYA on a technical parole
violation. He was 24 years old. Dyron was the fourth young person to die in CYA
last year. Durrell Feaster, Dion Whitfield, and Roberto Lombana also lost their
lives inside CYA’s youth prisons in 2004.

We are joining together to make sure these young lives are not lost in vain. Their
deaths are the ultimate horrific result of a system of violence, abuse, and neglect.
It’s time to close the CYA’s youth prisons and build a new system of rehabilitation
and support – a system these young people deserved but never received. It is
beneath the dignity of all Californians to do anything less.

“No More Lost Lives” will be a day of music, poetry, speeches, honoring, and prayer.
Please join us to show support for the Brewer family and send a message to state
decision-makers that the time for action is now.

To find out more information, get involved, or volunteer please email or call David

Many thanks,
Lenore Anderson
